Thales of Miletus

A Greek philosopher from Miletus (existed around the same time as
[Thales](ThalesofMiletus) and [Anaximander](Anaximander)) who
believed that the **source of all things is water**. He was an extensive
traveller and said to have calculated the height of pyramids in Egypt by
measuring shadows around 585 B.C.\[1\]
